Kilifi

Over View

Kilifi is a town on the coast of Kenya, north of Mombasa. It's near Kilifi Creek, along an estuary of the Goshi River. The town is known for Indian Ocean beaches, including Bofa Beach, dotted with resorts. Nearby, green turtles swim among coral reefs in Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve. The Mnarani Ruins, archaeological remains of a centuries-old Swahili settlement, include 2 mosques and several tombs.

Kilifi is spilt into two halves which are accessed by the impressive Kilifi Bridge that spans over Kilifi Creek. Kilifi, the administrative centre for Kilifi County, is a busy town with numerous Tuktuks and bodaboda motorbikes going about their daily business ferrying people around the town. The holiday houses are situated away from the hustle and bustle of town and nestle along both the creek sides and along the sea-front, with spectacular sea-views. All these properties have been personally selected, from large holiday houses sleeping up to fifteen guests, with swimming pools and sizable tropical gardens to smaller, private family homes.

This is a perfect haven for family and activity-orientated people with great opportunities for sailing and water skiing in the in pancake-flat water of the creek. Kilifi Town and Tusky supermarket provide all the groceries and necessities needed for your self-catering holiday. We have lots more information and tips about travelling in Kenya on these pages.
